Personal Geographies

This project was based on the migration of individuals into unknown territories, be they of language, geography or culture.

High contrast and a slow ISO was used to create the grainy feel of these images. I wanted this emotive quality to create a sense of isolation.

The black line drawing starts on the back of the model's body with the underground system in Moscow merging into the Thames river pathway on her front, representing the model's own journey from her homeland to London.
